Shamanic Reiki

I am a Shamanic Reiki Master Practitioner, certified by Shamanic Reiki Worldwide. My original Reiki training came from Genco Method where I first became a Reiki Master, and Reiki was one branch of her Energetic Coaching curriculum.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese term that means “universal life force energy.” Practitioners of Reiki channel this energy for healing purposes.

It was re-discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui back in the early 1900s. When he came back from an extensive period of meditation, he could channel healing energy and named it Reiki. Since that time, he passed that knowledge and technique onwards to other students and teachers who have since expanded this art into many different schools.

While there are many different ways to practice Reiki, ultimately the energy is fueled by your intention and that the healing energy of Reiki has its own intelligence and it will go to where it is most needed and can do the most good. There are ways to practice Reiki in a live setting where practitioners will place their hands on specific locations of the body. Reiki can also be practiced remotely as time and space have no meaning where Reiki is concerned. And thus, opportunities to heal beyond the present are also accessible in Reiki.

What is Shamanism?

Shamanism is one of the oldest forms of spirituality and pre-dates the major religions of much of human history. Its tenets are fairly simple: to work with the forces of nature and helpful spirits to heal ourselves and live in harmony on earth.

Indigenous shamanism teaches that nature can balance and revitalize and shift consciousness; it opens us to invisible and intrinsic energies that most of us are unaware of. As we each descend from shamanic peoples, expanding consciousness, healing ourselves and living harmoniously with the earth is our birthright and responsibility. The power is within.

What is a Shaman?

Leading world authority on shamanism John Perkins describes a shaman as someone who travels to the spirit world or alternate realities to retrieve power, energy and wisdom that can be used for the betterment of this world.

The word ‘shaman’ comes to us from Siberia and the Tungus peoples. Other cultures have similar words to describe the people in their communities who perform the same function. Typically, they were:

…not only the healers of their communities, but powerful agents of change, mediators between the physical and spirit worlds, and those who were responsible for keeping balance between people and nature.

In times past, shamans achieved their title through many different means, sometimes through apprenticeship and sometimes through some significant experience or event, or even prophesies from the womb.

To achieve the status of shaman would take far more than a weekend workshop which many people out there offer these days! However, practicing shamanism does not require one to become a full shaman; matching up shamanic principles with Reiki offers a unique opportunity to enhance both methods.

Are you a shaman?

NO! I merely practice shamanic principles in my life, and in my Reiki work. One does not take a course to become a shaman! But you don’t need to be a shaman in order to practice shamanism, nor use it in healing facilitation.

What is Shamanic Reiki?

Shamanic practices combine seamlessly with Reiki to form what we call Shamanic Reiki. The energy that is channeled in Reiki is exactly the same energy used in shamanic practices. Some of the shamanic practices that are used in Shamanic Reiki are:

  • Dream Journeying
  • Meeting and Working with your Nature Spirit Ally
  • Shapeshifting Past Lives
  • Neutralizing Past Events
  • Removing Intrusions
  • Resolving Energetic Blocks
  • Removing Deleterous Cords

And more…

Shamanic Reiki also empowers the individual to perform their own resolutions and healing. Rather than the Shamanic Reiki practitioner “doing something” to the client, we instead actively engage the client in each session to uncover what is going on with them, show them they are completely in control of their own condition and its resolutions, and guide them to whatever desired states they want to achieve.
