Have You Walked Today?

Check out this study, The association between step count and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, a meta analysis.

It’s a pretty amazing result. 500 step increments lowers risk of cardiovascular death by 7%, 1000 step increments lowers risk of all cause mortality by 15%.

So you don’t need 10,000 steps a day. You can get a lot of benefits from 1000, or even 500! But of course the more you walk, the more benefit you get, the more risk reduction of dying you experience!

Office work increased our sedentary nature, and the pandemic plus work from home multiplied it further. You wanna die early? Keep doing that!

Get up out of your chair and walk! No boot camps needed, no lying in a pool of your own sweat with aching muscles and gasping for air. Just go outside and walk – 5 min? 10 min? How long does it take you to go 500 steps? Probably barely any time at all.

Get out there and walk today!
